It’s been a long time since I posted a card, so I thought it was time! My friend Therese had her birthday in the beginning of this week, and it was just the perfect moment to try out my new stamp set from Lawn Fawn making her a birthday card.
I have been coveting this stamp set for a looong time, and who can blame me, look how adorable it is! I love otters, and this stamp was just too cute not to pick up (it’s the Five Year Clear Stamps). It’s my first stamp set I’ve gotten together with the die set, and omg, now I want them for all my stamps! No fussy cutting, just run it through my big shot and done! Neat and easy!
I made the background on watercolour paper, using distress inks in different pink and blue shades, varying from light to dark, which I then misted with water. I think the effect fits perfect for the theme, making the water the otter it happily floating around in look a bit like it’s moving.
The heart was cut out with a die set that is also from Lawn Fawn, which is the Large Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts Dies. I just love that die set, it’s so versatile, and I’ve used it for my Project Life, for cards, for scrapbook layouts, for tags, you name it.
Of course I had to put some sparkles in that heart!
So here is the end result:
And a little close up showing off the cute birthday otter, of course:
Hope you enjoyed this little card share! Have a great week, everyone, and thank you so much for visiting!
