Shipping Overseas

Helloes helloes! Small post just to let you know I’m alive :) I am keeping busy to say the least; planning my X-mas cards and gifties, and decorations of course (boyfriend gave me loose rains to decorate however I wanted for X-mas. I am sorely tempted to fill the entire apartment with glittery companion cubes). Also, I am taking a small photography class (Digital Photography and image theory). You can read a post about one of my assignments for this course here. An exciting thing happened. Someone ordered some of my earrings off my Etsy store. On my birthday, no …

Love Friday and Pinterest

Ok, so not only is it Friday, I’m also completely addicted to Pinterest. It’s a complete flood of inspiration and colour (and pictures of delicious cakes, for some reason), and as I’m pinning things to my boars they grow and overwhelm. If you EVER have any lack of inspiration, look no further. But also, be warned that it’s hard to close down you browser once you start. It’s a bit like ending up spending a day googling random interesting things, except, people have done it for you. I’ve been a bit into retro colours and aesthetics lately (well, what …

Sundays Make Room for Creative Mess

It’s been very rare lately to have a day when I can spend some time just messing about with my crafting materials. I decided I’d take some time today to make a layout, and just not stress, give it the time it needs. I might get done with it today. I might not. It doesn’t matter. I am loving my new little crafting space, it’s just so great to have everything in one place instead of hidden away in a billion different cupboards. Took a snapshot of my desk and thought I’d share. If’ I’ve had an idea for …

Love Friday and Paperclipping Roundtable

These last couple of weeks have been very busy at work, and a bit lonely since my co-workers are all on holiday. I for one am very grateful that it’s Friday, finally. But as I was doing Week in the Life last week I somehow clicked my way to the Paperclipping Roundtable podcast. It’s such an awesome show, I LOVE it, and have spent the better part of this week listening to it. Whether on the bus on my way to work, or when taking a walk on my lunch break, or crafting in my little corner at home, …

Not just the “who, when and what”, but the “why”

I spent an entire week taking everyday pictures and writing down notes about my day to day life, and now I’m left with the task of putting it all together in some sort of comprehensive collection, like an album. This has got me thinking. I haven’t done many layouts for me. I’ve made a travel album for my mother from our big trip to Italy last year. I did a friendship mini album for a friend a while ago. I have made very few layouts for myself, and certainly nothing close to an album. I think mainly because it’s felt …

Remodeling and Making New

The new crafting corner is almost in order. I cheated though and started using it before it was really done. Who can blame me? A crafting space of my own with a table and a door to close so that the cat won’t eat my stuff. Nothing could be better. I managed to make it messy in a matter of hours! I got my crafting materials out of storage just in time. I was sat until well after midnight last Friday, preparing for a bachelor- and bachelorette party. Also, my friend Hanna has her B-day tomorrow, so I’m making …

Crafting Corner – It’s a Start

It used to be a storage area in our new apartment. It won’t be for much longer! The almost neon-white walls has a coat of soft eggshell white, and one of the walls by the little space where I’ll have the crafting table will become a sort of soft aubergine. It’s called “Passion”. I find that rather suiting. Can’t wait to get all my supplies unpacked! Just a few more days now. Then I will craft enough to create energy for a small village, or world peace.   Other related posts: Scrapbook Corner – The Beginning

Crafting corner – The Beginning

I always wanted a little corner for my crafting. You know, a place where it wouldn’t matter if you left some stuff laying around over night, in the middle of a project. But ever since I started crafting on a more serious level a couple of years ago, I’ve had a shelf somewhere in the living room, and I’ve crafted on the living room table, or in the kitchen, or in Tricks kitchen, moving my tools and materials around with me, trying not to leave a paper trail (haha…). Everything I have is stacked and fitted into several bags and …

My kingdom for a Groundhog

The end of January is drawing nearer and that is good news in more ways than one. First off, when we have our crafty days some of the girls travel a long way on dark and snowy roads to get here with all their tools and materials, and when the day is over we end up trying to dig out their car again before they can go home. Last time it took us 20 minutes to get the car free from all the snow! So, safer roads and the promise of less snow is a very welcome factor. Moreover, we …

Lovely Labels

Friday, the day before The-Two-Epic-Days-Of-Spare-Time when you can craft and be creative. Ideas pop into my head during the week but I seldom have time to do something with them, hopefully I get to spend some hours this weekend crafting though. I just need to remember the ideas… yay for post-its! If you feel a bit short for motivation, here is one sure source of inspiration: Old designed labels. Do a Google image search or do a search on Flickr or Photobucket, you’re bound to find a ton of appealing designs. Or find objects in your home with labels on …

Being spoiled by friends

There are seriously few gifts that mean so much as something someone made themselves. Time is precious for everyone, to use your time to think, plan, and make something with someone else in mind is, for me, a very big compliment. I’ve been meaning to post a picture of this for the longest time now, this beautiful knitted comfort shawl that Hanna made me. I love the colours, the pattern, the shape, I can’t believe she put so much effort into it! I wear it whenever I feel a bit chilly (which I do every so often in my old …

Note to self:

It’s X-mas soon! Don’t forget to send the x-mas cards Don’t forget to finish the gifts and to wrap the gifts! Make tags for the pressies Make decorations for your tiny tree cat-tummy-friendly if possible Maybe I can be my own secret santa?
