“I’ve got my eyes on you” get’s a whole other meaning

I can’t help it, I just think they are funny. Fuh-Nyh! What project doesn’t get a boost from googly eyes? Old stamp motifs or funny shapes get another dimension. (Plus: Boring baby pictures? Boring photo of your granny? The answer: Googly eyes!). I used quite a lot of them on the X-mas cards I made the other month (note to self: don’t forget to actually SEND the X-mas cards this year), and then I couldn’t stop myself, I put them on everything. Anyway, I found a lot of inspiring googly-eye-nutters on Flickr, enjoy! 1. Boo Owl ghost, 2. Basil the …

So close to December!

Time flies! Both me and Tricks have been really busy at work. It just so happened that I got a new job at Tricks department and now we sit side by side, making great things happen! Meanwhile we’re going crazy from not having time to craft, and this when X-mas is getting closer! Very frustrating, to say the least. We did make a few X-mas cards on the last crop we had, and Tricks have been busy finishing her dress at the sewing class she’s been taking this fall. I hope to post a few pics soon! Also, Tricks have …

GreenOrangeTurquoise

Pysselmyran’s Blog issued a challenge this week that feels like a lot of fun, since it seems so out of the box for me when it comes to colour. They want you to create something in the the colours turquoise, orange and green. Huh? I can’t for the life of me think of anything to make these colours go together in a good way. But I will try… Meanwhile I tried to find some inspiration via flickr, to see how the colours would go together: 1. monkey family address label & mommy cards in green, 2. ruler card, 3. Deep green, …

Love Friday

This Friday is was snowing in Stockholm! I love it. I know it wont stay, in fact it’s already beginning to melt away, but up here in the north snow means light, it means those grey and dark late autumn evenings are going to be so much brighter. Plus, you get to bundle up with socks and sweaters and hopefully under a blanket with your special someone. No bad conscience when you stay inside and craft! In fact, you might have to stock up with some more papers and things, who knows how much time you’ll have to spend inside, …

Crafting Bonanza – October 2010

As I mentioned Tricks and I planned a small crafty get together with some friends. We had cupcakes, drank loads of tea, and crafted the hell out of that Saturday. Most of us made christmas cards, but Tess  sewed a  cuddly collar/scarf that she designed after an animated character! I hope she puts up a how-to on her blog, it looked awesome! All in all it was an excellent way to spend a day; I took a few pics, and promised I’d post them here, so here goes:

Plans and schemes and ideas

On Saturday we are arranging a creative mash bash with a couple of friends of ours, and one of the plans is to make x-mas cards. But everyone are welcome to bring whatever project they want, so I think there will be a good mix; paper crafts, sewing machines, knitting. Woo! To get a bit in the mood I’m planning to bake some x-mas-ish treats and bring some glögg (a type of mulled wine). I love x-mas. I think we need some of that good stuff already, to keep us going until snow comes and brightens things up a bit.

That thing they call autumn

You know how it gets, when the lazy days of summer are over and weather gets a bit chilly. At least for me, it means I want to cuddle up inside and go crafty crazy! I have so many ideas but so little time… somehow I have got to start making more time for myself and my crafting plans ;) It’s like cheap therapy after all. Tricks and I have had a couple of scrapbook days during summer, and also organized an all-girls crafting day for a couple of friends. Everyone brought their stuff, some brought things for scrapbooking and …

Going to an island and finding a treasure

So, after the long and cold winter we had, me and Tricks took a week off and went to Crete, third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. We didn’t really know exactly where we were going until one day before departure, and even then we knew very little of the town we were going to: Hersonissos. The whole trip took us a little by surprise; neither of us had ever just gone on a sun trip before. Though relaxing by the pool at the resort was pleasant, we of course got a bit antsy after a while, and went exploring. …

Taking the time

Whenever Tricks find a gift for someone she always takes time to wrap it in the most beautiful way, making it so much more than the gift inside the box, the gift wrapping itself makes it all the more special. So when she had her birthday last year I wanted to do the same for her. For this set of gifts I chose a wrapping paper with colours that would match her dress and the colour scheme for the party itself: I had a lot of fun with the following ones. Of course I found a lot of fun scrapbook …

That thing about feeling creative

Hey! Me and Tricks have been very quiet this winter, which was one of the coldest in Sweden in many years. Even now in the end of May cool winds are still lingering and the sun seems a bit shy. Thank goodness we’re off to Greece in less than three weeks! We’ll soak up some sun and warmth and take a lot of photos to scrapbook with! I’m also thinking about putting together a scrapbook travel kit, something compact and portable, to be able to maybe make or alter some postcards. Hmm. Something to think about. I have some ideas… …

Acorns & inspiration

Tricks was the one who got me hooked on making jewellery, she makes the most original and personal things. By chance I found a couple of silver acorn pendants in a shop near our work the other day, and I thought of her instantly. At first I thought I’d have a go at making her a pair of earring for x-mas, but then I just couldn’t, because I just know she’ll make something amazing out of them, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with! She instantly sent me this inspirational picture, and what can you say? …
