Packing a small travel kit – What craft supplies would you pack?

Well, who doesn’t bring a kit of craft supplies when they travel somewhere? But putting together a crafty travel kit can easily get out of hand, speaking from years of personal over-packing experience. I can never help myself; sneaky rolls of washi tape, a plethora of great pens, a cheeky assortment of notebooks and project life cards, always find their way into my travel bag. Sometimes even a whole mini album kit. It’s not always the most practical thing, especially if you are off on a plane somewhere, and maybe some people will opt to leave room for other things, …

I love my crafty leftovers! Handmade embellishment clusters

It really is oh so easy to let your stash pile up, no matter if you are nuts for pens or fresh new notebooks, stationery or scrapbooking material. Suddenly you find yourself with little bits of leftovers and old supplies at the bottom of a basket, and by then it is time to do something about it! I went through my stash and piled up a rather jumbled collection of, well, STUFF of all sorts, and decided I wanted to make some handmade embellishment clusters. The idea with these is pretty simple: pick out items that seem to go together, build them up in …

Crafty Catch Up – Sharing some handmade cards and scrapbook layouts

Well hello, ladies and jellybeans! As spring makes its entrance, so does the creative fever, apparently. We are on a bit of a crafty rampage in our household, which makes the crafting chaos grow exponentially. The Mister is building some miniature models, and is a huge stickler for details, which, if you are making miniatures makes it a very, shall we say, intricate process. He needs a lot of tools and strange materials to make things look the way he wants at the right scale and colour, and he’s constantly finding stuff in my extended craft stash that he can use! …

Colour my world, because inks makes me happy! – Handmade card

This Wednesday I am sharing a handmade card, inspired by the sketch challenge over at Swe Scrapbook! The sketch has a lovely mix of circular and rectangular shapes, which always seems to be pleasing for the eyes when it comes to cardmaking and scrapbooking! This card took me the better part of an evening to make, because I wanted the inks to dry naturally and just be allowed to react to the water and “do it’s thang”. But I considering I got a lot of other crafty things done while I was waiting, it was a fairly quick and simple card to make. I …

An otterly great birthday – Lawn Fawn birthday card

Hey there, It’s been a long time since I posted a card, so I thought it was time! My friend Therese had her birthday in the beginning of this week, and it was just the perfect moment to try out my new stamp set from Lawn Fawn making her a birthday card. I have been coveting this stamp set for a looong time, and who can blame me, look how adorable it is! I love otters, and this stamp was just too cute not to pick up (it’s the Five Year Clear Stamps). It’s my first stamp set I’ve gotten together with the …

Who doesn’t love a frog in a tutu?

My friend Micu had he birthday last week! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICU! For once I actually remembered someone’s birthday in time to sit down and make a birthday card, which is way more fun than forgetting it to the last minute, and here’s the card I made:     I think I wrote “Happy birthday” in Hungarian. I hope I did! At least that is what it is meant to say! So for this card I opened up a stamp I have never used, because I could not find the right moment, until now. It’s the Tutu Toad from Stampendous, which …

Oh hello! – Snow Owl card and colour challenge

Molly’s Scrapbooking had a colour challenge I could not resist, and that was kraft, blue/turquoise and white. The challenge was to make a card or layout with these colours, so I opted for a card this time. Now, white on kraft is one of my new favourites, so this was a great opportunity to try it out a bit more. This is how the card turned out: I stamped the owl with my trusty VersaFine (great for details, and waterproof), and used a white Distress Marker to make colour in the white. It really feels like magic, using that pen. …

I promised yesterday that I would be done with this product this week. So, hence my last post on this darned self-adhesive crushed velvet ribbon. Finally! Use Your Stash – The Crushed Velvet Ribbon Edition #2

If you read my last post, you’ll already know I am on a quest to Use My Stash, and right now, specifically use this darned self-adhesive crushed velvet ribbon that’s been lying around for more than five years. Here’s my thoughts about the To read a little bit more about my thoughts about this product, why I have it, and what was my original plan, I suggest reading my last post. Since I did tags last time, I thought I’d keep going with some cards for this post. I felt that the challenge would be NOT to make a Christmas …

Use Your Stash – The Crushed Velvet Ribbon Edition #1

So, yesterday I boldly announced that I will dive into my stash in a magical quest to USE WHAT I HAVE. You can read more about it on this page (clicky clicky)! Two of my statements are as follows: I will grab all the things I once loved, but now think is rather “bleh”, and incorporate them into my projects., and I will analyse why I bought them, and what they were originally for, and I will find new ways to use them. I will find stuff I have had in my stash from the very beginning and USE IT …

Oh, Fudge – Scrapbooking My Recipes

I hoard recipes. Or, at least I hoard recipes I love to cook. And I LOVE cooking and baking, so, I have quite a stash of recipes. Most of them is tucked in a folder and look something like this: The top one is an honest-to-gawd old photocopy of one of my mom’s cut outs from a magazine, and I bet she still has the original somewhere. I must have had that photocopy since I was about 12? I took a copy of my mums copy and cut it out and glued it on a white paper and put it …

White Ribbon and Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday to all you happy crafters out there! Hope you had a great weekend and got to make something awesome out of pretty paper, or something beautifully messy with your inks, or that maybe you got to have a nice cup of coffee and a cupcake with your loved one while out on a shopping trip where more pretty paper was purchased. And that maybe you got to feel some lovely, early spring sunshine warming up your cheeks. At least, that sort of sums up the weekend I had. Not too shabby! I was busy this weekend putting the …
