You know when you are a scrapbooker and two of the loveliest people you know get married? And you get to celebrate them? That’s when you scrapbook the bazonkers out of that wedding! Photographs! Guestbook! Decorations! Albums! Oh, all the scrappy goodness.
My friends Malin and Joacim decided to get married in the middle of March, and it was a fabulous weekend! The spring had juuust about hit Sweden, and the days before the wedding were sunny and warmish and… of course, the temperature dropped drastically on the actual big day, and the air was sort of crispy blue with hints of shimmery snowflakes and fresh wind by the seaside.
Me and my friend Therese were lucky enough to get to tag along for the official photo shoot before the ceremony. Two hours in the freezing wind, and the snow getting ever so slightly worse by the minute.
But I have to tell you guys, THIS couple…. so stinking cute, so funny, so much in love. They smiled and kissed and posed for the camera for those two hours without seemingly flinching at all. They are basically awesome. And I promise you, we kept bundling up the bride in her warm coat in between shots. The groom was a manly man with a tall hat and didn’t seem to mind the cold at all!
Sigh. So awesome.
Hey! Why do I always come up with more journaling when I am blogging than when I am actually writing on the layout? Just wondering… #lifeofascrapbooker
Aaanyway, this layout was inspired by the weekly sketch over at the lovely SweScrapbook blog, where I have had the good fortune to become a member of the design team! The team is fab and inspiring and there are several posts a week, so don’t hesitate to check it out!
I wanted something colourful, and used gesso for the dotted effect, and watercolours and ink for the stains. Papers and embellishments are from Heidi Swapp.
Thank you so much for visiting! I hope you’ll have a happy, scrappy day!
