I wanted to share this layout I made using photos from a fancy date night last year. Do you take too many silly photos in the mirror in the lift? We do! Well, I do. Mr Boo tries not to roll his eyes to much in the pictures.
Thing is, I love these photos. They are certainly not perfect; blurry and weird lighting, silly faces and me holding my phone almost in front of my face like a pro… But they make me smile! Boo looked handsome, I looked cute, and we had a really nice dinner on a sunny summer evening!
I made the background using distress inks, first masking the edges of the white cardstock with washi tape to make a border. Then I misted it lightly with some water.
Using papers from the wonderful Shimelle collection from American Crafts, as well as some rose-gold foil paper, I cut out some die cuts with my Big Shot. I used a die set from the Shimelle collection itself, as well as the Jumbo Tattered Flowers die set from Tim Holtz.
Lastly I punched out some butterflies with a few different butterfly punches I found in my stash, much to my surprise. I’ve never seen myself as a butterfly girl. But there they are!
I wanted a diagonal feel and arranged the die cuts and photos, with some layering underneath, from one bottom corner to the opposite top corner. Some Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist drops in the corners tied it together, I think.
Hope you enjoyed this little alyout share, and thank you so much for visiting! I hope you’ll have a happy, scrappy day!
