I finally gathered my thoughts enough to kick off this years first scrapbook layout. Finally! I’ve been itching to get into my non-Christmas stash for ages now; the holidays have been the main focus since the beginning of November on my part. Two Peas in a Bucket started one of their new video tutorial series on January first, “In the Mood to Scrap”, with the fabulous Wilna Furstenburg. She presented a mood board and challenged participators to use it, and create a page about yourself with a word that speaks to you. She also made her own word art, “Stay strong, Your worth it”, downloadable as a digital file. I love it! Of course I wanted to incorporate it in my layout somehow.
A lot of things on the mood board spoke to me; the chalk boards, the bright white and the splashes of colour, the self portrait of the girl with the camera (since I seem to be taking a lot of those myself), and the Henri Matisse quote:
Creativity takes courage
It’s the funniest coincidence, I suppose, that I have chosen Courage as this years One little Word. So it suited me well for this page.
My One Little Word last year was Create. And it got me a long way. I was more creative than I had been in years. But i want to grow. And for that I need courage. So that is my word this year.
For the splashes of colour I used some papers from my very favourite collection from MME last year, “On the Bright Side”. I’ve been holding on to those papers for the shear prettiness of them, but now I am all about using what I have and love. Courage, my friends! So I used them. I did, I really did. I cut them up. Gasp! They are stuck to a page now! I am mighty proud!
I embellished with washi tape, stickers, sparkly brads, and one of my treasured wood veneer cameras from Studio Calico. Love them so much!
This page is now laying on the desk in my craft room, and I keep looking at it and thinking I am pretty pleased. I will stick into an album soon, I promise!
Hope you enjoyed! Thank you for stopping by, and stay safe now!
