Hello, scrappers and muggles! I am sharing this 12×12 scrapbook layout today featuring the ever so furry and nosy crafter’s companion, Sixxten the Cat (our British Shorthair). This layout is made with the Basic Grey RSVP collection.
Basic Grey has been one of my favourite manufacturers since I started scrapbooking, and I felt very disheartened when I heard that they are closing down production of their scrapbooking supplies. This is like the Sassafras Lass trauma all over again! My first instinct as a scrapbooker, naturally, was to hoard every last piece of paper from BG I had. Forever. But then I felt that I would actually rather have their products in my scrapbook albums.
I consider this to be a great sign of personal growth on my part as a crafter and stash hoarder. Seriously. I deserve some sort of prize.
Now, this particular little cat is always very curious when anyone is doing anything crafty or any sort of handiwork. And he will of course always try to sneak up on my craft desk to steal my supplies. Especially ribbons and brushes. If I catch him in the act he will either run away, gobbling like a strange little duck, or he will simply move in slow motion, because that means you “can’t see what he’s doing”. Clever…
This obviously results in there being cat hair stuck somewhere on my projects. This can’t really be avoided. Believe me, I try my best. You other crazy cat people know what I’m talking about. It’s like he’s leaving a little bit of his DNA all over my scrapbook albums, for posterity!
I wanted this to be portrayed in some way on the layout, so I embossed these little paw prints in gold sort of in a fashion like he would have walked all over the layout.
Also, this little tiny paw print on the banner! I love it:
The grid layout itself is inspired by a sketch challenge over at SweScrapbook, and you can have a look at the other interpretations from the team over at the blog!
Hope you enjoyed the read, thanks so much for visiting! Have a great day!
