I am not a big fan of Valentines Day, but I am however a sucker for romantic gestures and spontaneous acts of sweetness and caring, big or small. Me and Mr Boo didn’t get the chance to spend Valentine’s together, which was not a big deal, but being the sweetheart he is, he surprised me with this wonderful bouquet of flowers the day before the 14th. He’s a sneaky one, he is!
He was going out of town, and I was seeing him off at Stockholm Central Station, having a bit pf sushi and coffee, and even though he was lugging bags and laptops and heavy stuff around, he still managed to buy me flowers. It was quite the little mini-date, actually.
For the background of this layout, I felt inspired by the ombre scrapbook papers I’ve seen lately, and I really love this trend, for some reason, and I think, besides gold, it might be my new trend obsession!
I tried to make the same sort of ombre effect myself by masking a sheet of white card stock and using two distress ink by Tim Holtz: Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters. Inked the paper up in different sections and sprayed it with water. So simple, so lovely, it feels like magic every time. I’m such a sucker for inks that reacts with water! Fake water colour effect for the win!
The layout itself is inspired by this ever so lovely layout by Nancy Damiano, Garden Girl over at Two Peas In a Bucket. She also made a lovely video, I highly recommend checking it out!
This scrapbook layout was created for the February challenge over at Hobbyworld,
a Swedish distributor of craft supplies. Check out the challenge at
and the photograph that was the inspiration for the challenge!
Thank you so much for visiting! I hope you’ll have a happy, scrappy day and a great weekend!
