What happened this weekend?

Quick update since I didn’t have time to post any pics this weekend. I’ve used my camera a LOT this weekend though, so many photos to process!

Last week the temperature dropped considerably and winter hit Sweden for real. We’ve had -10 to -14 degrees (Celsius) in the mornings and I’ve bundled up in layers upon layers of snugly warm winter clothes every day, but it’s still freezing! Still, we don’t have it as bad down here in Stockholm. I’ve heard numbers like -30 and -40 up north. Yikes! So, perfect winter evenings to stay indoors and scrap, right?

The weather was gorgeous this weekend, so me and Jed took our cameras and went out for a walk in the woodland area close by. Loads of snow, crisp air and bleak winter sunshine. I brought my DSLR and Jed his grandfather’s old camera. He has a black and white roll in it now, can’t wait to see how those turned out! Anyway, we took a bunch of funny and beautiful pics, froze our butts off and then went for coffee at a local bakery. We had cake. Pretty awesome if you ask me, and a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon; perfect way to land after a week of stress and conundrums.

Also pottering on with my 365 project, maybe not as active as I would like, but definitely doing something creative every day. I haven’t done any prompts in a while though, but gone a bit rogue. I’ve taken photographs, made some cards, designed some journaling spots for a layout i want to do, did a photo layout with an old photo of some friends (a very summery one, I think I miss the warmth), and started the production of the wedding invitations for P & N. All in all, I’m pleased with last week’s creativity, but I can’t wait to sink my teeth into a bigger project. Plans plans plans…!

Anyway, I hope to have some time to add a photo or two here soon. Have a great Monday, and a great week!

Clementine is Dead – Create 365, Day 6

Day 6 of my journey to create something every day for 365 days. Will I actually last the first week?

Today’s prompt was to go into the kitchen and create something with the first fruit or vegetable at hand. So this is what happened:

(I can’t help it, I love googly eyes. They go with everything).

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Tiny Shopping Bags for Tiny Trinkets

I have some special things to send off to a new home, and I wanted to make something nice to send them in. So I made these tiny mini shopping bags, which turned out to be much easier than I expected! Perfect way to pack a shiny little thing, I think, and so much fun to make! Great way to use that patterned paper from your stash that you didn’t have any specific plan for. Now it can be a cute little bag instead of being stashed away!

Shipping Overseas

Helloes helloes! Small post just to let you know I’m alive :) I am keeping busy to say the least; planning my X-mas cards and gifties, and decorations of course (boyfriend gave me loose rains to decorate however I wanted for X-mas. I am sorely tempted to fill the entire apartment with glittery companion cubes). Also, I am taking a small photography class (Digital Photography and image theory). You can read a post about one of my assignments for this course here.

An exciting thing happened. Someone ordered some of my earrings off my Etsy store. On my birthday, no less! So parcels are on their merry way overseas. I know I hardly made a profit on these items, but I made them by hand and somebody wanted them. That makes me very happy!

Hope you all are as psyched about X-mas as I am. Crafting heaven for us glitter freaks.

Stay safe!

Sundays Make Room for Creative Mess

It’s been very rare lately to have a day when I can spend some time just messing about with my crafting materials. I decided I’d take some time today to make a layout, and just not stress, give it the time it needs. I might get done with it today. I might not. It doesn’t matter.

I am loving my new little crafting space, it’s just so great to have everything in one place instead of hidden away in a billion different cupboards. Took a snapshot of my desk and thought I’d share.

If’ I’ve had an idea for a while for a design, I like to collect the notes or sketches or whatever else needs compiling onto a simple A4 page, to keep it a bit in order and have a place to extend my idea. Usually when I do this I find it easier to make it all come together in the end. It also means I can go back and look over my old ideas and re-purpose them, whenever I need to.

I hope everyone is having a nice and slow, crafty Sunday. Stay safe!

Remodeling and Making New

The new crafting corner is almost in order. I cheated though and started using it before it was really done. Who can blame me? A crafting space of my own with a table and a door to close so that the cat won’t eat my stuff. Nothing could be better. I managed to make it messy in a matter of hours!

I got my crafting materials out of storage just in time. I was sat until well after midnight last Friday, preparing for a bachelor- and bachelorette party. Also, my friend Hanna has her B-day tomorrow, so I’m making a little something for her too, but I can’t post any pictures just yet, of course.

I’m thinking about changing the wordpress theme, if I can figure out how. So it might look a bit wonky for a while… bare with me :)

Crafting Corner – It’s a Start

It used to be a storage area in our new apartment. It won’t be for much longer! The almost neon-white walls has a coat of soft eggshell white, and one of the walls by the little space where I’ll have the crafting table will become a sort of soft aubergine. It’s called “Passion”. I find that rather suiting.

Can’t wait to get all my supplies unpacked! Just a few more days now. Then I will craft enough to create energy for a small village, or world peace.

Crafting corner – The Beginning

I always wanted a little corner for my crafting. You know, a place where it wouldn’t matter if you left some stuff laying around over night, in the middle of a project. But ever since I started crafting on a more serious level a couple of years ago, I’ve had a shelf somewhere in the living room, and I’ve crafted on the living room table, or in the kitchen, or in Tricks kitchen, moving my tools and materials around with me, trying not to leave a paper trail (haha…). Everything I have is stacked and fitted into several bags and boxes that are more or less portable. With emphasis on “less”. Seriously though, it’s been a bit of a kerfuffle.

But I move house two weeks ago. An we have a nice spacious bedroom, an open living room, a nice little office, and also… a small storage area, or cubby-hole, or neigh, a crafting room! It may well be filled with trash bags and unpacked boxes, it may well have been the parking space for the stroller for the family who lived here before us, but, by George, I see the potential or a future crafting room and scrapbook corner! Now I just have to convince my beau. And the cat, who is thoroughly enjoying rummaging around in the piles of boxes.

To be continued…

Note to self:

  • It’s X-mas soon!
  • Don’t forget to send the x-mas cards
  • Don’t forget to finish the gifts
  • and to wrap the gifts!
  • Make tags for the pressies
  • Make decorations for your tiny tree
  • cat-tummy-friendly if possible

Maybe I can be my own secret santa?
