“Hello 2014” – Scrapbook Layout with Mr Boo, and how we celebrated the new year

I very, very, VERY seldom scrapbook photos within a week from when I took them. It has always been a habit or process or whatever; I scrapbook event/photos/highlights of my little life way after they happen. The reason? I am not very good at developing photos on a regular basis. I have a massive amount of photos from the last 3-4 years combined, I take everything in RAW and hardly post-process all of them, so if I want to scrapbook a single event, that will happen after I do a batch order for photos. I order a BIG batch of …

Christmas Day – Scrapbook Layout about my holiday in England

I have to say, that for once I started with some of my Christmas layouts almost immediately, and the reason for that is because of Mr Boo, who so lovingly supports me and my many interests and passions, and who gave me a Canon Selphy printer for my birthday in November. Being able to print photos on a whim at home really makes a world of difference, and I am very, very grateful. This scrapbook layout is a short story about Christmas day, which, this year, I got to spend in England with Mr Boo’s family. It was wonderfully different, …

“You & Me” – Scrapbook layout with paint and a bit of lovey dovey sillyness

A week ago us scrapbook nerds celebrated our most beloved holiday: National Scrapbook Day! Of course, even though it’s called National Scrapbook Day (NSD for short), it is celebrated all over the globe. It’s a wonderful holiday full of scrapbooking zeitgeist, community and enthusiasm, and it makes one feel a little less alone in one’s crafting room. I made this scrapbook layout for a challenge on Shimelle Laine’s blog: Use Paint on Your Scrapbook Pages. I love paints! They are so, so versatile! And there are so many different kinds of paint media nowadays (when I grew up, I was …

Who doesn’t love a frog in a tutu?

My friend Micu had he birthday last week! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICU! For once I actually remembered someone’s birthday in time to sit down and make a birthday card, which is way more fun than forgetting it to the last minute, and here’s the card I made:     I think I wrote “Happy birthday” in Hungarian. I hope I did! At least that is what it is meant to say! So for this card I opened up a stamp I have never used, because I could not find the right moment, until now. It’s the Tutu Toad from Stampendous, which …

And the Collective Scrapiverse Screamed Out Loud

So this happened the other day: I was having a lazy weekend breakfast with my beloved Mr Boo and he looks up at me, with his pretty blusih greenish eyes, and says sincerely: “You know what, hun, your crafting corner is completely cramped, you hardly have any room in there anymore, why don’t you just move into the office, and I can put my computer in that small nook instead.” And my heart skipped a beat. And in my mind, completely and instantly, I had the entire layout of the office organized. Workspace. And storage. STORAGE! So much more space. …

Oh hello! – Snow Owl card and colour challenge

Molly’s Scrapbooking had a colour challenge I could not resist, and that was kraft, blue/turquoise and white. The challenge was to make a card or layout with these colours, so I opted for a card this time. Now, white on kraft is one of my new favourites, so this was a great opportunity to try it out a bit more. This is how the card turned out: I stamped the owl with my trusty VersaFine (great for details, and waterproof), and used a white Distress Marker to make colour in the white. It really feels like magic, using that pen. …

Happy friends! – New scrapbook layout

This is me and my friend Micu, who came all the way from Budapest to see me on my birthday in November! It was such a great weekend, and I cannot believe the amount of fun things we had time to do, without ever feeling stressed or short for time. Museums, crafting, sightseeing, shopping, watching movies; it was amazing. We are always up to something, and I am putting together an album with all of it, and here’s one of the layouts I’ve made: It is me and Micu, on the ferry boat going out to one of the islands …

First Scrapbook Layout of the Year. Courage!

I finally gathered my thoughts enough to kick off this years first scrapbook layout. Finally! I’ve been itching to get into my non-Christmas stash for ages now; the holidays have been the main focus since the beginning of November on my part. Two Peas in a Bucket started one of their new video tutorial series on January first, “In the Mood to Scrap”, with the fabulous Wilna Furstenburg. She presented a mood board and challenged participators to use it, and create a page about yourself with a word that speaks to you. She also made her own word art, “Stay …

A Scrappy New Year!

Dear fellow crafters, scrapbookers, and creative popsicles: It’s a new year! Happy New to all of you! During December I kept myself rather busy crafting, decorating, making gifts and cooking for the holidays. Christmas was celebrated at our home this year and since it was my “first” I had quite a few items on my list to cross off. So much fun! Exhausting but wonderful, in so many ways. I made a lot of handmade gifts; for my mother and father, for Mr Boo, for my friends. I made a Christmas calender for Mr Boo and my friend Micu, …

Using My Stash – Tricky Paper #2

So, I am having a go at round 2 of scrapbooking with a tricky paper in my stash. You can read about the first attempt in my last blog post here. By chance it just happens to be another paper from Creative Imaginations, this time by Christine Adolph: Estimated Age: Maybe 4 months in my stash, but I don’t know when the collection was released. Estimated Amount: Just the one sheet. If I Remember Correctly: It was a part of a bargain pack from my local craft store, the type when you get a pack of 10 surprise papers …

Using My Stash – Tricky Paper #1

This week I thought I’d dig trough my stash and pick out a couple of oddball papers, that I keep for no other apparent reason than that they intrigue me, and think that some time in the future there will be a perfect time to use them. Like an “Eureka!” moment, when all the magical stars align, and as you are pulling out your paper there will be a choir of fluttering, naked baby-angels singing and a parade with 78 bloody trombones playing, because this weird paper you’ve had in your stash for years and never used will be …

Use Your Stash – My Last Word on the Bloody Velvet Ribbon

I promised yesterday that I would be done with this product this week. So, hence my last post on this darned self-adhesive crushed velvet ribbon. Finally! It isan’t ALL that, after all, I can imagine a week of “bla bla ribbon”, “bla bla I need to use it all!” can be a bit boring. So, last spurt. You can read the initial post about this product I found deep in my stash here, and also, read all about my project “Use Your Stash” over here on this page! Let’s do this thang: My friend Tess, when I whined about this …
