Well hello there!
I am slightly addicted to cute little date- and phrase stamps. They are so versatile and handy to have around! I do use them in some way or another on almost every project I create, since I at least put a date somewhere. But also, the small phrase stamps are just so perfect for that little extra touch on a page, in a cluster or on a small tag or label sticker. And you can use them over and over again. They take very little space, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Marvellous!
Admittedly, I did use to have a hard time remembering what was on them. Some of them have examples on the side, but some are just plain roller stamps where you have to roll them around and around to see what they say, and I got a bit frustrated. So I came up with a quick and easy way to keep track of them all.
First of all, this is how I store the stamps on my desk:
This stainless steel stand is a cheap one from the bathroom section at IKEA (every organized scrapbookers best friend). I keep some favourite washi tape in the top- and middle section, but have filled the bottom bowl with my date- and phrase stamps.
To keep track of my stamps, I decided to make a small booklet with them all stamped up on a page each. Something small to keep next to them, so that I could grab it and flip through it and find my stamp quickly.
I decided to use a couple of my project life cards for the covers. I have plenty of them, and it felt like a simple way to make it a bit more appealing. So why not use some up?
Some eyelets and some simple binder rings, and voila: small booklet done. The cut up some white cardstock in the same size to make the pages inside.
I stamped all my dates and phrases inside and made a note of what stamp the belonged to. One page for each stamp, easy to flip though in a jiffy!
Regarding the date stamps, I made sure to stamp the first and the last year of the stamp on the page:
Now I can easily keep track of which stamp to use on layouts with stories that are a few years old, and also how many years of happy scrapping the stamps will last me. Ha!
So that is is for this Storage Sunday, or as we like to call it, Organize My Crazy! Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely, scrappy day!
