Storage Sunday – How I store my embellishments

Hiya everybody! Hope you are having a lovely Sunday! We got a lovely suggestion from our friend Joanne, and so this Sunday I want to share some of my storage for my scrapbooking embellishments with you! Embellishments are a big beast to cover; there are so many varieties and shapes and forms and philosophies on how to store it all. It feels like I have been through a million different ways of storage, and there are certainly proof of that in my stash, so to slim it down a little I will show a little bit of what is most current for …

Oh hello! – Snow Owl card and colour challenge

Molly’s Scrapbooking had a colour challenge I could not resist, and that was kraft, blue/turquoise and white. The challenge was to make a card or layout with these colours, so I opted for a card this time. Now, white on kraft is one of my new favourites, so this was a great opportunity to try it out a bit more. This is how the card turned out: I stamped the owl with my trusty VersaFine (great for details, and waterproof), and used a white Distress Marker to make colour in the white. It really feels like magic, using that pen. …

Happy friends! – New scrapbook layout

This is me and my friend Micu, who came all the way from Budapest to see me on my birthday in November! It was such a great weekend, and I cannot believe the amount of fun things we had time to do, without ever feeling stressed or short for time. Museums, crafting, sightseeing, shopping, watching movies; it was amazing. We are always up to something, and I am putting together an album with all of it, and here’s one of the layouts I’ve made: It is me and Micu, on the ferry boat going out to one of the islands …

Use Your Stash – More Velvet Ribbon Cards

“Will this product never end?!” you think, and having asked the same question myself I can honestly say: NO. But I will keep at it until I see a visual dent in this part of my stash! So, more projects with self-adhesive crushed velvet ribbon is to be expected (has anyone ever blogged so this much about this? Surely! To the googles!) My initial thoughts and analyses about the product can be read here (clicky clicky). More about the project “Use Your Stash” is to be found here. Meanwhile, I made some more cards with this never-ending velvet ribbon. I …

Can’t Let Go of a Lovely Time

I think I’m getting addicted to Shimelle Laine’s Starting Points! See, I have this stack of printed photos that I just adore, and I have had a hard time getting started on them. Shimelle’s Starting Points seems to be exactly what the doctor ordered. I can look at her Starting Point, have a photo in mind but quickly make a base for a layout and then tweak it. Suddenly I see some favourite moments down on a page, and that makes me very happy. So, off I went to take a stab at this weeks layout. Although spring is here, and I am …

Tricks Bracelets

Tricks have been making all these neat and almost edible bracelets lately, they really remind me of the candy bracelets you could get as a kid (and you’d walk around all day with them around your wrist and eat the little sugar beads once in a while, at the end of the day you’d bee all high on candy and have sticky wrists). We decided to take a few shots of Tricks in her bracelets, which is easier said than done during winter season. We didn’t have a lot of extra lighting, so we had to use the flash, which …

Hello christmas!

I know a very stylish young lady named Louisa, who loves Hello Kitty (she can also play winkle Twinkle Little Star on piano!). Well, I found the perfect hair clips for her last year, and wanted to send them to her, and it just happened to be close to Christmas, so there you go. I realised I haven’t posted the pics here, so since I’m all into the Christmas cards right now, I thought I’d add it now. I found a motif to match the hair clips, which I printed out and attached to a piece of chipboard to make …

Scraplift at Molly’s

Molly’s Scrapbooking is a Swedish web shop that sells nice little scrapbooking kits, and they’ve just had a great challenge with the theme “Weekend in Paris”. One of the challenges (#6) was to scraplift a card, and that suited me the best (see the original card by Cath here). As the season is getting nearer I decided to go with a christmas card. I made a resolution not to buy any new christmas papers this year, since I had some many left from last year, but I didn’t feel like any of them suited my layout. So i made the …

Birthdays and such

For Tricks birthday last year (one of the big ones) I did a bit of planning for once, figuring out b-day gifts and packaging and cards ahead of time. Which was lucky, because the b-day card took me almost an entire day to make, since I wanted it just right. Tricks had sent me a picture of a very nifty yellow Totoro hand bag a few weeks before, and I couldn’t get hold of that, but I used it as inspiration for the card. I wanted to make something in greens and yellows/orange, something blingy and festive and in any …

Where buttons live

Ma’ Clay Buttons needed somewhere to live so I decided to alter this tin. It used to contain some nice dark chocolate Jonny gave me but now when that’s gone (how, oh how?). This is my first “real” altered object, I’m rather pleased.  I just l love those dots!

Tricks rocks!

I had a few friends over for beer and Rockband this weekend, such a great evening! That game is so much fun, it really makes you feel like somewhat of a rock star, and it’s something you do together with your friends, big plus! Tricks brought this gorgeous bouquet of roses, and she had altered it!  Getting fresh flowers is such a treat, and when someone also has spent the time to scrap something for it it’s just lovely :) She’d made these awesome guitars with cords and buttons and everything, totally neat. Also she’d glazed them so they’re all shiny. I …

Last X-mas I gave you my tags

Tricks made a set of incredibly creative tags for her sisters x-mas tree, and posted a couple pictures a while back. Thank you, Tricks! I was so curious about those tags, you’d told me about them but i didn’t get a chance to see them before the big day. I love how you do the unexpected, how you can get cheerful clouds and pink swirls and a trumpet-playing rabbit to be so x-massy :) I’ve made sort-of-tags for my x-mas gifts before, I rather do something hand-made (even though it looks like it was made like a 3-year-old) when I …
