Packing a small travel kit – What craft supplies would you pack?

Well, who doesn’t bring a kit of craft supplies when they travel somewhere? But putting together a crafty travel kit can easily get out of hand, speaking from years of personal over-packing experience. I can never help myself; sneaky rolls of washi tape, a plethora of great pens, a cheeky assortment of notebooks and project life cards, always find their way into my travel bag. Sometimes even a whole mini album kit. It’s not always the most practical thing, especially if you are off on a plane somewhere, and maybe some people will opt to leave room for other things, …

Celebrating a wedding – Scrapbook layout

You know when you are a scrapbooker and two of the loveliest people you know get married? And you get to celebrate them? That’s when you scrapbook the bazonkers out of that wedding! Photographs! Guestbook! Decorations! Albums! Oh, all the scrappy goodness. My friends Malin and Joacim decided to get married in the middle of March, and it was a fabulous weekend! The spring had juuust about hit Sweden, and the days before the wedding were sunny and warmish and… of course, the temperature dropped drastically on the actual big day, and the air was sort of crispy blue with hints of shimmery …

Friends – Scrapbook Layout

Happy Wednesday, scrappy people! Today I wanted to share a scrapbook layout with you that I made earlier this year at a big scrapbooking event i Stockholm. I was there with my two very scrappiest friends, and had such a wonderful time, which certainly inspired me to make this layout about the three of us. It came together quite quickly, even though I fussy cut the flowers from the Dear Lizzy “Serendipity” collection. The background paper is from Bo Bunny, “Forever Young”, I believe (slightly obsessed with this collection… there’s a paper with donuts on it that I just wish …

Storage Sunday – How I store my pens, markers and suchlike

It’s safe to say that I have been a pen addict for most of my life. There has just always been a LOT of pens present, awlays. I love pens. The perfect pen is a thing of joy for me. Every pen has a specific purpose. There’s ALWAYS the Perfect Pen for every occasion. There! Now that that little confession is out of the way, let’s look at this weeks storage solution… for my pens, markers, and suchlike. Therese wrote a post last week and shared her excellent pen storage for her pens in her craft wardrobe, and I feel …

You Had Me At Hello – New Scrapbook Layout

I am not a big fan of Valentines Day, but I am however a sucker for romantic gestures and spontaneous acts of sweetness and caring, big or small. Me and Mr Boo didn’t get the chance to spend Valentine’s together, which was not a big deal,  but being the sweetheart he is, he surprised me with this wonderful bouquet of flowers the day before the 14th. He’s a sneaky one, he is! He was going out of town, and I was seeing him off at Stockholm Central Station, having a bit pf sushi and coffee, and even though he was …

Here’s to Another Spectauclar Year – New Scrapbook Layout

It is sort of a special thing when you look back at the year that has gone by, and tally up the score, the good and the bad. I know in my heart that there where many good things that happened last year, but sometimes the negative gets the worst of ya. But somehow, through those things, I remember laughing, and feeling very loved. Even the worst day turns into something good, when you come home to someone who will always cheer you up, and who will always, after just spending a few minutes in the same room with that …

“You & Me” – Scrapbook layout with paint and a bit of lovey dovey sillyness

A week ago us scrapbook nerds celebrated our most beloved holiday: National Scrapbook Day! Of course, even though it’s called National Scrapbook Day (NSD for short), it is celebrated all over the globe. It’s a wonderful holiday full of scrapbooking zeitgeist, community and enthusiasm, and it makes one feel a little less alone in one’s crafting room. I made this scrapbook layout for a challenge on Shimelle Laine’s blog: Use Paint on Your Scrapbook Pages. I love paints! They are so, so versatile! And there are so many different kinds of paint media nowadays (when I grew up, I was …

Using My Stash – Tricky Paper #2

So, I am having a go at round 2 of scrapbooking with a tricky paper in my stash. You can read about the first attempt in my last blog post here. By chance it just happens to be another paper from Creative Imaginations, this time by Christine Adolph: Estimated Age: Maybe 4 months in my stash, but I don’t know when the collection was released. Estimated Amount: Just the one sheet. If I Remember Correctly: It was a part of a bargain pack from my local craft store, the type when you get a pack of 10 surprise papers …

Using My Stash – Tricky Paper #1

This week I thought I’d dig trough my stash and pick out a couple of oddball papers, that I keep for no other apparent reason than that they intrigue me, and think that some time in the future there will be a perfect time to use them. Like an “Eureka!” moment, when all the magical stars align, and as you are pulling out your paper there will be a choir of fluttering, naked baby-angels singing and a parade with 78 bloody trombones playing, because this weird paper you’ve had in your stash for years and never used will be …

Use Your Stash – Scrapbook Layouts with the Never Ending Crushed Velvet Ribbon

Yes. I’m still going at it with the self-adhesive crushed velvet ribbon. Seriously. I want it OUT of my stash, but I refuse to throw anything away. I bought the stuff, I have a responsibility to use it and not just keep it for several years in a box and then toss it out. You can’t really fight consumerism in this industry, because it’s just MADE for making you buy stuff (and I’m down with that, I don’t mind investing in pretty things that coincides with a cherished hobby). But you know… at least consume it once you do. And.. …

Picking Out Colours & Pretty Papers

I have a great stash of pretty papers, all hand picked and fondled and sorted and added to a mental list of projects to make. But when it comes down to it, once it’s time to choose the papers, it can be a bit overwhelming. Or, you forget what papers you have. Or, you just have one of those days when nothing makes sense and nothing goes together, no matter how many great papers you have (a bit like not having anything to wear, ever though your closet is full). I craft a lot with old scraps and bits and …

Happy Place, Happy Dog

The lovely Shimelle posted a new Sketch to Scrapbook Page the other day, and I found the sketch to be very alluring; there was way more stuff in that sketch than I would usually dare to put on a layout. Maybe I’m coming out of my shell, hehe. As I flipped through my Box of Forgotten Prints I Really Love (BoFPIRL, in short… ehm) there they were, the perfect 4×6 photos just waiting to be scrapbooked. Following the sketch, this layout took me roughly an hour. AN HOUR, people! I usually spend way more time than that on a design, …
